Corsica : 7 days to the North
In the South of galéria, the maritime facade of Corsica offers one of the most beautiful natural spectacles of the Mediterranean Sea. In this decoration of red cliffs, creeks and islands, Scandola's reserve prolongs in land and in sea the regional Natural reserve of Corsica which manages it in an intact universe or eagles fishermen, dentis and groupers are kings.

A small pebble beach was lined with treelike undergrowths, a carved Genoese tower which overhangs it and, in 200 metres in the wide, a stumbling block which appears in the surface, playing all the tints of the blue: you are for Elbo, in the heart of Scandola's reserve.
It is in 1975 when a reserve was here created by ministerial decree, since the punta nera up to the punta michillina which marks the entrance of the bay of Porto. In everything, 919 hectares are protected, with ban to hunt, to pull, to make fire, to tear away plants, and even to photograph the fauna of excess near. The protected maritime domain extends over 1000 hectares. No fishing is authorized in spite of some infringements for the professionals. The harpoon fishing and the dive in diving suit are also prohibited. It is forbidden to moor in the reserve more twenty-four hours. Elbo's bay is exceptionally supplied in posidonies. The neighborhoods of the island Palazzu and the coast which goes down southward repopulated emulously: sars, corbs, groupers, murènes and dentis fall in this part of the Corsican coast its original aspect, whereas in points the full water is the domain of the migratory species : tunas, dolphins, swordfishes and liches. With a mostly crystalline water, but in a site exposed to the dominant winds and not necessarily easy of access, Scandola makes a success of the quintessence of the Mediterranean navy life.
